Just announced – Wreath Masterclass at The Mandrake

Someway, somehow December has arrived quick as a flash. As ardent fans of the festive period, we’re not complaining. Here at McQueens HQ we’re equipped with some of the most skilled Christmas décor experts you could wish to meet. And at McQueens Flower School, our tutors have been sharing their yuletide wisdom across our programme of classes. The popular one-day workshop celebrates the gorgeously aromatic materials synonymous with the season and results in some seriously showstopping results. This weekend, the school will be hosting the final wreath workshops of the year – sob! – however we are delighted to announce that an exclusive version of the workshop will be popping up at a very special location on 12, 13 and 14 December – The Mandrake hotel!

Nestled in London’s oh-so-cool Fitzrovia, the Mandrake is a boutique hotel that instantly transports you from the bustle of the capital to a calm and relaxing oasis. There are botanical touches to be found all around the incredible space, from the three-storey high walls of jasmine to the passion flowers on the Jurema terrace. Oh and did we mention you can find some stupendous works of art including some fine examples by surrealist Salvador Dali and Jonas Burget?

So here’s the really good news. McQueens Flower School is happy to announce we will be hosting a special seasonal masterclass at this sumptuous venue on three dates in December. McQueens course director Sophie Powell will be guiding students through all the techniques and sharing tips to help you create the most dazzling of displays for your front door. It’s a perfect gift experience to share this Christmas.

Once you’ve created your floral masterpiece, it will be time to revel in the surroundings of the award-winnning hotel’s restaurant, Serge. Here you’ll be served a sensational champagne and wine-paired three-course lunch, with a menu boasting an Isle of Portland crab tart, Elwy Valley lamb loin, and a divine dessert featuring clementine, sorrel yoghurt sorbet, white chocolate ganache, and meringue. Fabulous!
