Exhibition: Alice Mary Lynch at the Jonathan Cooper Gallery

Avid readers of the blog may recognise Jonathan Cooper Gallery from our recent articles featuring the exhibitions of renowned botanical artists Rosie Sanders and Fiona Strickland. Founded in 1988, Jonathan Cooper is a Chelsea-based contemporary art gallery specialising in representational drawing, painting, photography and sculpture. Today, we’re delighted to announce their first exhibition of works from Somerset-born designer and doll-maker, Alice Mary Lynch.

Having trained as a fashion designer at Kingston University, London, Alice went on to work in Paris for nine years as a designer for John Galliano, Christian Dior, and Sonia Rykiel. Here she honed her skills in stitching, beading and embellishment; the staple features of her beautiful handmade dolls.

Created using vintage fabrics such as Edwardian lace and antique Japanese kimonos, their delicate and whimsical beauty have captured the hearts of the fashion pack. Among others, Alice’s clients include Alice Temperley, Anya Hindmarch, Pearl Lowe, and Victoria Beckham.
