What a tremendous honour it is to create flowers for the Vanity Fair post-Oscar Party in Los Angeles! Yes, we’ve been soaking up the buzz and atmosphere in Hollywood in the build-up to the starriest night of them all. Held next door to Beverly Hills City Hall and hosted by Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter, this is the one party on everyone’s to-do list.
It begins with an army of construction and creative teams building an impressive party space for the most celebrated celebrity gathering in the world – a veritable ‘who’s who’ of A-list tinseltown folk and giants from the entertainment world.
Guests lucky enough to receive an invite for the post-Oscar soirée were greeted at the imposing Wallis Annenberg entrance by a mariachi band this year. As they run the glamorous gauntlet, along the iconic green and white carpet flanked by the gigantic Vanity Fair signage, there’s a blinding flash of cameras provided by the world’s press. Guests rub shoulders with Oscar award-winners in a beautifully designed party hub, styled by McQueens with masses of stunning Quicksand roses – a rose that’s every bit as glamorous as the guests themselves. And let’s talk about the guests; the remarkable Vanity Fair guest list included a ‘pinch-me’ roll-call of superstars, from Lady Ga Ga, Gwen Stefani and Justin Timberlake to Eddie Redmayne, Elton John, a triumphant Leonardo Dicaprio and host Chris Rock. Many of them were immortalised in exclusive images captured by renowned photographer Mark Seliger. What a magnificent night and one that we that we will always remember!
