We have loved creating exciting festive installations throughout London in some of the capital’s fabulous landmark destinations. The thrill of creating elaborate displays at this time of year is tempered by the hard physical toll it takes on the team.
As readers of our blog know, we love a collaboration and we were very excited to work with local designer Ayomide Ogundayo recently on a flower-themed photoshoot showcasing a collection of her latest bags. If we ever we needed a reminder that love is all you need, it was this weekend. And on Saturday 3 June, there was plenty of love in the air as McQueens staff turned out en force to witness the wedding of our very own school administrator, Freddie, to his civil partner, Tony. The Berkeley Hotel is celebrating Belgravia in Bloom this week as the country rejoices in the world’s most famous flower extravaganza, The RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The theme for this year’s Belgravia in Bloom is children’s stories, which soon got Team McQueens’ creative juices flowing! After some careful deliberation and a chocolate biscuit or two, we decided to head on down the yellow brick road with our own homage to L. Frank Baum’s classic children’s tale, The Wizard of Oz.
Update: Since publication, we are delighted to announce that our flowery homage to The Wizard of Oz won top prize in the Belgravia in Bloom awards! Congratulations to our fabulous team of McQueens florists for creating yet another, magical, award-winning deign.
