Christmas has landed at the Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge to spectacular effect! During an overnight installation by the Christmas elves – alias team McQueens – the fabulous hotel has been transformed for the party season. The hotel is now flanked by a very impressive Christmas tree, a wonderful statement that commands envious views over Knightsbridge. The majestic tree stands an impressive 30 feet tall and is festooned with sparkling lights, artfully arranged with help, expertise and a fair bit of muscle from our friends at Pollen Crew.
The Berkeley has a history stretching back some 300 years with its origin as a coffee house. It became known as a The Berkeley Hotel around 1787 and has a fascinating history, welcoming visitors from around the world with a reputation for luxury that spans the centuries. Earlier this year, the hotel lobby, Blue Bar and the Collins Room have been transformed after a remarkable redevelopment that has reinvented this landmark hotel for the 21st century.
The impressive lobby provides a wonderful welcome for guests with an elegant minimal charm so a chic seasonal statement was top of their Christmas wishlist. A pair of perspex tree installations that were made-to-measure for the lobby are just what Santa ordered. The frames were dressed with a tasteful collection of baubles in pale shades of gold, suspended with gossamer strands, to provide a marvellous magical effect as the baubles seem to hang in thin air. through the rest of the hotel, there’s an abundance of festive red ilex berries, miniature Christmas trees and our signature take on the classic terrarium – our Yuletide peararium. With a touch of festive styling including some breathtaking golden angel wings, the hotel is the heavenly choice for a super stylish Christmas – the perfect accompaniment to cocktails in their famous Blue Bar, or the fashionista’s favourite, the legendary Pret à Portea in the Collins Room.
