This month, the Jonathan Cooper gallery in Chelsea are holding their first solo show of leading botanical artist, Fiona Strickland. A graduate and post-graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, Strickland is a multi-award winning artist renowned for her beautiful and extraordinarily intricate botanical portraits. Painting in watercolour, she depicts a stunning array of flowers, often from unusual angles or significant stages of their life cycle, creating unique and thought-provoking pieces that vividly capture the delicate beauty of flowers.
Naturally, as soon as we saw the exhibition we fell in love with Strickland’s work and we know you will, too. For all who are based in London (or would like to enjoy a day visiting the city), we highly recommend dropping into the Jonathan Cooper Gallery before the 12 November. We also have a copy of Plant: Exploring the Botanical World by Phaidon Press, featuring Strickland’s artwork to giveaway.
