Seasonal Impact

We loved creating flowers for Guy and Damian’s civil ceremony at Banking Hall in March 2016. It’s a wonderful Grade II listed hall which was designed in the 1930s and we relished the opportunity to transform the space with a simple selection of seasonal flowers including masses of forsythia and clusters of sunny narcissi. The images by photographer David Jensen, perfectly captured the early spring exuberance of the flowers in the hall and a cascading curtain of flowers added a huge dose of seasonal impact to the proceedings. It was lovely to catch up with Guy Chapman after the event and hear such positive feedback about their flowers.

“We wanted spring fresh flowers that coordinated with the flower scheme of the Banking Hall and reflect the yellow detail of the marble floor. The flowers had to be dramatic but not overtly sculptural, and we wanted them to look natural and in keeping with the time of year. We loved working with McQueens. Visiting the studio was really helpful. It was great to discuss everything in detail and to see a sample of the flowers before the day.

We were thrilled with the results on the day of the civil ceremony and the flowers looked exactly as we imagined. The impact as we walked into the hall was amazing and the scent added to the occasion. We had the most wonderful comments from all our guests and the flowers certainly contributed to what was a very special day!”
